The original article and comments make for interesting (debatable) reading now a few more of the facts are out.

It is certainly worth reporting when the #1 reason a lot of people will vote for him will be because of his "honest politics" image.

And its worth dwelling on cos its fun to take the piss out of Labour.

Re: Jeremy Corbyn in massive hypocrite shock
A politician caught out embellishing the truth for his own ends. Worth reporting. Not worth dwelling on endlessly. And after this time, it's not important enough to anyone but the most borish political point-scorers to relegate news of earthquake deaths, stabbed nationals, Turks in Northern Syria etc...

He made himself foolish, time to move on.

Did he make his wife sit on the floor too to help make his point or was she allowed to sit in one of the empty seats?

Took me 2 minutes.

People were already trying to defend Corbyn by saying that he obviously sat down after other people got off, and it turns out that that would have been impossible, unless people got off the train while it was moving.

Re: Jeremy Corbyn in massive hypocrite shock
I wouldn't really call it a "triviality", Five.

Corbyn has built up this whole image of being honest, down to earth and in touch with people and staged this stunt to reinforce that image.

I'd also question why he didn't pre-book a ticket, it shows a massive lack of common sense or pre-planning.

And also...on the journey, wouldn't you expect him to be working and preparing for the meeting? You know, laptop out, checking notes, making notes, making phonecalls, proper buisness/politician stuff?

I'd say First Class, or even private transport, would be far more apt here, rather than getting a supposedly packed plebs train purely for the sake of it, to make a point about how much of a regular bloke you are.

Re: Jeremy Corbyn in massive hypocrite shock
The only people really getting irate about this are Corbyn and his supporters because they've been caught out and nobody believes their ludicrous lies that it is a conspiracy by the establishment, and the other group getting the hump are moderate lefties who see Corbyn turning the Labour Party into the 3rd/4th party in British politics.

The rest of us are loving it.

Mashed, it's not almost hilarious to watch. The only funnier than Corbyn and his reaction on the doorstep, is the excuses his supporters are coming up with.

It's comedy gold.

Politician in being a cunt shocker.

Massive shrug from me.

Fortunate for us that the country and global stage are both in such a fine state that our politicians and business leaders have the time to argue the toss about such trivialities.

Anybody under the impression that MPs are immune to lies and spin - even the ones that you like - is just being naive.

Turns out he couldn't sit in the seated area because he was after two seats for him and his wife, not one. Odd that he forgot to mention that in the video he did sitting on the floor.

Their #1 defence in the face of this incident seems to simply be various remixes of "all politicians lie, so its OK that Jezza does as well".

It's almost hilarious to watch.

Re: Jeremy Corbyn in massive hypocrite shock
What I find strange is how Corbyn supporters, who are very keen on telling us just how honest, straight talking, trustworthy blah, blah he is, how he represents a new morality, a gentler kind of politics etc, can't themselves be honest when faced with their darlin' Jezza being caught in a blatant lie.

Lenin and Stalin had there 'useful idiots', Corbyn has his.

Pardon me; a first class wlak on fare would have been 215.50.

mashed in maryland 1:16 Wed Aug 24
Re: Jeremy Corbyn in massive hypocrite shock
Some FACTS:

- A walk-on ticket in standard class for that journey is £123.30.
- A first class ticket would have been £153.00.
- A pre-booked ticket (in either class) would have come with a seat reservation as part of the package
- There is a timestamped image of him sitting down in standard class before the train reached its first stop.

What are your answers to these facts, leftyites?

Or... he could have
A) simply reserved a seat like most non morons
B) not felt the need to turn it into to a political thing in the first llace

Re: Jeremy Corbyn in massive hypocrite shock
So the report says 45 minutes into the journey (after Corbyn moaned) Virgin staff shuffled people around and found him a seat. Which is backed up by people on the train, and Virgin staff accept this happens a lot...but disputed by people who weren't on the train.

#fauxoutrageforthetwittergeneration

But Ronnie what that all fails to mention is that there was no opportunity for anyone to get on or off the train in that 45mins so therefore there must of been seats if only Jezza had bothered to ask someone to move their bag, budge up etc - unfortunately the pre planned film (hence he had a videographer with him) wouldn't have been as exciting or hit the agenda.

Anything else is spin by a liar who pretends he is above lies.

Fucking hell, I thought I was going to read a proper scandal, like he was secretly knobbing Marine Le Pen.

What an anti climax.
